Found a cheap coffee filter that makes accidental art every morning

I was using paper filters that always ripped on me, so I grabbed a reusable metal one from a thrift store for $2. Now the coffee grounds settle into these perfect little patterns in the basket, like sand dunes or abstract landscapes. It's not just functional, it actually looks cool before I even brew. Has anyone else noticed their gear making interesting designs by mistake?

$2 for a metal filter is a solid deal, I'll give you that. But I kind of see the patterns as a mess to clean up rather than art. I used a metal filter for a month and every morning I had to scrub dried coffee sludge out of the basket with a brush. My paper filters rip too sometimes but at least I just toss them in the trash. The patterns you're describing sound like the same residue I was scraping into the sink, not something I'd call a landscape. To each their own though.

Lol I get what you're saying, the cleaning is definitely a thing. But I kinda love the patterns, it's like finding shapes in clouds or something.
