Found a puddle on my driveway that looked exactly like Van Gogh's Starry Night
Last Tuesday morning after a big rainstorm in Austin, I walked out to get the mail and saw this oil puddle in my driveway. The way the colors mixed together looked just like that famous painting with the swirling sky. I snapped a picture and my sister said it was the best accidental art she'd ever seen. Has anyone else had a weird puddle or spill turn into something that looked like real art?

Has anyone else considered that these puddles might be temporary messages from the universe? I'm not talking about anything supernatural, just that oil and water mixing on a hot day can create patterns we almost never see unless the conditions are just right. The way the light hits the thin film of oil at a certain angle makes those colors pop, same as how a rainbow works. Maybe we drive over the same spot a hundred times and never notice until the rain and the sunshine and that particular angle of the driveway all line up. I'm not saying there's a meaning behind it, but it makes you wonder what other accidental art we walk past every day without giving it a second look. Your picture proves that sometimes the best sights are the ones nobody planned for.

I had something similar happen a few years back. I washed my car in the alley behind my apartment and the soap mixed with some oil and dirt, and it made a rainbow swirl pattern that looked like one of those abstract expressionist paintings you see in museums. My friend who studied art history said it reminded her of a Jackson Pollock drip painting but way more organized. I took a picture too, still have it saved somewhere.
