Frost pattern on my windshield looked like a map of the moon

Last Tuesday morning in Portland I went out to scrape my car and the ice had made these perfect little craters and ridges, all lit up gold by the sunrise. I stood there taking photos for 10 minutes before work and missed my usual bus by 4 minutes. Now I keep a small flashlight in the glovebox just to inspect frost patterns on cold days, anyone else stop to document these before they melt?
