I finally spilled coffee on a page of my sketchbook and it actually looked good

Was rushing out the door last Tuesday and sloshed half my mug right across a half-finished pencil drawing. Now the stains kinda tie the whole thing together, go figure. Anyone else ever ruin something on purpose and then wish you could undo the 'fix'?

Wait, you actually think spilling coffee on purpose is the same thing? Ruining a page you already drew isn't really a fix, it's just what happened.

Oh man, no, I think umasullivan is missing something here. It's not about the coffee being a "fix" in a technical sense, it's about how sometimes a random accident can make something look way more interesting than what you were originally going for. Like you spend hours trying to get a certain mood or texture and then you spill your drink and boom, there it is. And then you get that weird feeling where you want to chase that accident again but you know it won't work the same way because you're trying to control it. I've definitely tried to recreate a mistake before and it just comes out stiff and forced. It's like the universe gave you a freebie and now you're just trying to copy your own homework.
