My 2-hour sink fix turned into a 4-day kitchen remodel

I dropped a spoon down the garbage disposal and it jammed. Figured I'd clear it in 20 minutes, easy job. Instead I spent 4 days taking apart the whole underside, scraping 15 years of grime off the pipes, and finding out the drain had been crooked since the house was built in 2003. The spare part I needed cost $9 but no store within 40 miles of Cleveland had it in stock. Anyone else end up rebuilding half a kitchen after a tiny kitchen mishap?
