Pro tip: someone pointed out my photo 'spot' looked like a paint splatter, not a happy accident

I had this picture of a rusted pipe I took at work in the break room. Thought the light hit it just right, looked like an oil painting. Posted it here and someone straight up said "bro that's just a paint drip from the ceiling." I was so focused on the shape I didn't step back. Now I walk around stuff from 3 different angles before I snap. Anyone else get called out for seeing art where there's just mess?

Honestly, calling that a "happy accident" is a bit generous. A happy accident is when you accidentally double-expose a shot and it looks cool, not when you completely miss what's in front of the lens. Tbh, that's just a good reminder to actually look at the whole frame, not just the pretty light.

Wait, you're saying people actually "double expose" shots on purpose and that's supposed to look cool? I thought that was just what happened when my phone camera glitched at a concert.
