Serious question, did anyone else spend 8 years hanging frames by the wire instead of the hooks?

My landlord at the unit on 5th Ave pointed out all my pictures were tilting left last month, then showed me the wall anchors I'd been ignoring the whole time. Has anyone else made that dumb of a mistake for that long without noticing?

Nodded along reading this because I did the exact same thing for like 5 years. My mom finally came over and goes why are all your frames crooked, and I just never even thought about it. The wire was right there the whole time, I just figured the hooks were decoration or something. Really makes you question your whole setup lol.
