Spilled coffee on my garage floor and it looked like a painting

I was rushing to get to work last Tuesday and knocked over a full mug of black coffee. It splashed across the dusty concrete and I just stood there staring at it. The way the dark liquid spread out in these perfect, feathery lines through the gray dust looked exactly like an ink wash painting. I almost cleaned it up but grabbed my phone instead and took a picture. It took me a full 15 minutes just standing there, late for my shift, because I couldn't stop looking at the patterns. The stain is still there and I catch myself glancing at it every time I get in the car. Has anyone else had a mess turn into something you almost didn't want to clean up?

Take a clear photo before you clean it up. I did that with an oil stain once and it made a cool phone background. Sometimes the best art is totally free and accidental.

That's actually a really smart idea. It turns a mess into something interesting. I'm going to remember that next time I spill something.

Oh great, now I'm going to be that person taking a million photos of a coffee puddle before frantically blotting it up with napkins. "Accidental oil stain art" sounds like something you'd find in a hipster gallery for 500 bucks, but hey, I'm not judging. My phone background is currently a blurry picture of my cat's ear, so an oil stain might actually be an upgrade. Just gotta make sure my boss doesn't walk in and see me kneeling on the floor treating a spill like a crime scene.
