The drain on my espresso machine looks like a tiny Roman aqueduct

Last Tuesday I was scrubbing the drip tray on my Lelit and noticed the water channels wore these perfect little arches into the metal over 4 years of use. It hit me that every scratch and stain on that tray tells the story of every shot pulled, like a tiny accidental sculpture museum. Anyone else catch themselves staring at the wear patterns on their gear instead of cleaning it?

Tbh the wear patterns on my gear are the only art I can afford. Four years of espresso abuse left my drip tray looking like a topographical map of a war zone. I just call it patina and pretend it adds flavor.
