Why does nobody talk about how puddle reflections always look better than the real thing

I was walking home from the bus stop last Tuesday and it had just rained. There was this stupid puddle in the parking lot of the grocery store on Elm Street. I looked down and the reflection of the sky and the trees looked like something you'd pay money to hang on your wall. The actual sky was just gray and boring. The puddle made it look all soft and painterly. It hit me that I've been trying to take nice pictures for years and the best ones I ever got were of random puddles after rain. I was trying to frame up the wrong stuff the whole time. Has anyone else noticed that the ground after rain is basically free art?

Elm Street's got some of the best puddle art in town after a storm.

Man, I'd probably be the guy who steps right in the deepest puddle trying to admire it. My balance is so bad, I'd end up making my own splash art instead of enjoying someone else's. But seriously, some of those reflections off the wet pavement are something else, especially with the streetlights hitting them just right. Maybe I just appreciate them more because I see them on my daily walks, but puddle art is honestly underrated.
