Bought a $60 silicone air fryer liner and it ruined my chicken

I got a pack of those silicone liners off Amazon thinking they would keep my basket clean, but the chicken came out soggy and steamed instead of crispy. The holes are too small for proper air flow around the food. Has anyone else had this problem or did I just pick a bad brand?

My buddy bought a set and her chicken wings turned into sad little steamed hockey pucks. She ended up tossing them in the drawer and just going back to spraying the basket with oil.

Sad little steamed hockey pucks" is exactly right. That's the problem with all those gadgets that promise perfect results with zero effort. They just trap moisture and steam everything. It's like the air fryer trend where everyone thinks you can throw frozen food in there and get restaurant quality. You can't. It's the same with those silicone air fryer liners people buy. They block airflow and then you're eating soggy fries. Whole life is like that now. Everyone wants a shortcut but the shortcut usually makes things worse. Sometimes you just gotta spray the basket and flip the food halfway through.
