Bought a cheap wire rack for my air fryer and it's a game changer

Spent about $12 on a basic metal rack that fits inside the basket. I was tired of food steaming on the bottom. Now I can do a full batch of wings or fries without flipping. Everything gets crispy all over. Cook time dropped by a few minutes too. Anyone have other simple add-ons that made a big difference?

You mentioned your cook time dropped, which is great, but just a heads up. For some foods, like frozen fries, a rack can actually speed things up too much. The outside gets dark before the inside is fully cooked. I had to add a couple minutes back for my tater tots. It's still way crispier, you just have to watch the first batch.

Oh man, you are so right about that. I burned a whole tray of fries that way, they looked perfect but were still cold in the middle. Now I always add a few extra minutes when I use the rack for frozen stuff, it makes a huge difference. That extra crisp is worth the wait though.

Funny you mention tater tots, I actually had the opposite problem. My racked tots came out unevenly cooked because the hot air was hitting them from both sides but the convection pattern in my oven is weird. Some tots on the left edge got way more heat than the ones in the middle. Now I rotate the pan halfway through and it solves that cold pocket problem completely. Been meaning to test if flipping the rack upside down changes the airflow pattern at all.
