Finally nailed crispy tofu in the air fryer, now debating the recipe share
I've been trying to get tofu right for months, and today it came out perfect. The trick was pressing it extra dry and a light cornstarch coat. But I used my roommate's marinade without asking, and now I'm torn about posting it online. She mentioned it was her grandma's secret blend, so I feel like I should keep it quiet.

My air fryer is basically my third roommate at this point. Tbh, I've burned more tofu than I've cooked right, so props on nailing it. Once I used my friend's fancy soy sauce for stir-fry and ended up replacing it with the cheap stuff from the corner store, she still doesn't know. But yeah, if it's her grandma's secret, maybe keep that part offline and just share your cornstarch method.

Ever hear about my friend who tried to copy her grandma's stir-fry sauce with a store mix? She burned the tofu so bad it fused to the pan. To cover her tracks, she used cheap soy sauce, but her family noticed from the first taste. How do grandmas always know when we mess with their recipes? Your air fryer adventures sound familiar, like kitchen tools have their own ways of spilling secrets.

Grandmas have that sixth sense for when we cut corners in the kitchen, it's wild. @iris_knight, your soy sauce swap story is a perfect example of how we all try little fixes that feel harmless in the moment. It's funny how cooking tools and ingredient swaps become our silent partners in crime. Makes you wonder what other everyday shortcuts we're all taking without getting caught.
