Frozen vs fresh veggies in the air fryer - I finally did a side by side test

My wife said frozen broccoli would come out soggy no matter what. I said it just needed more time and a higher temp. So last night I put a bag of frozen florets in one basket and fresh cut ones in the other, both tossed in the same oil and seasoning. 400 degrees for 10 minutes on the frozen, 8 on the fresh. The fresh ones were crispy on the outside and tender inside. The frozen ones were... edible but kind of limp and watery. Half of them stuck to the basket too. Anyone else find frozen stuff just doesnt crisp up the same way, or have you found a trick that works?

Did you try tossing the frozen ones in a little cornstarch first?

Totally, @paulc93. The cornstarch trick is a lifesaver, but I learned that the hard way. First batch I tried it on, I tossed them so aggressively half the cornstarch ended up on my kitchen floor. Looked like a snowstorm hit my counter. Now I just use a big zip bag and shake it like it owes me money. My wife walked in once while I was doing that and asked if I was breakdancing with a bag of fries. So yeah, cornstarch works great, just maybe don't let me near the shaker.
