I thought you had to spray everything with oil for it to work
I mean, I used to drench my fries and chicken in cooking spray before putting them in, thinking it wouldn't crisp up otherwise. After a few soggy batches, I tried just patting the food dry with a paper towel and using maybe half a teaspoon of oil tossed in a bowl. The difference was crazy, especially with frozen fries. They got way crispier last night because the extra moisture wasn't steaming them. Has anyone else cut way back on oil and gotten better results with certain foods?

Brian303 is wrong, more oil makes everything crispier and tastier, period.
