My frozen dumplings exploded in the air fryer today

I was making lunch and threw some frozen potstickers in without checking the temp. Set it to 400 degrees for 12 minutes like always. After about 8 minutes I heard a loud pop and opened it up to find dumpling guts everywhere. The skins were fine but the filling had burst out through the tops. I let them finish cooking and they still tasted okay but looked awful. Has anyone else had this happen with frozen dumplings or does someone know a better temp to use?

Oh man, I did the same thing with gyoza last week. I think the steam builds up too fast in the air fryer. I've had better luck doing 350 for about 10 minutes and flipping them halfway through.

Read somewhere that frozen dumplings need lower heat and more time to cook through without exploding. Basically the moisture inside turns to steam too fast at high temps and has nowhere to go. Tried 350 for 12 minutes and they came out way better, no more mess to clean up.
