Vent: my air fryer manual lied about the basket capacity
So I kept throwing in a full chicken breast plus some fries and wondering why everything came out soggy and uneven. The manual said 5.3 quart basket, but I measured it myself with water and it's more like 4.2 quarts of actual usable space after the raised bottom plate. Read a post on a cooking blog from a guy who did the same math and it made total sense. Why do they advertise the total volume instead of the real cooking area? Has anyone else measured their basket and found the same thing?

Man, I gotta disagree a little here. I measured mine too and got pretty close to the sticker, but honestly the real issue is you're crowding the basket, not the numbers on the box. Air fryers need room for air to move, so even a 5 quart won't save you if you stack stuff on top of each other.
