Am I the only one who realized paper maps are way better after getting lost in a corn maze?
Last fall I went to this big corn maze in rural Ohio and thought I'd be clever using my phone GPS. Signal dropped about 5 minutes in and I was totally turned around for 40 minutes. A guy working there handed me a paper map and I got out in 15 minutes flat. Now I keep a US road atlas in my car for road trips and it's saved me twice in no-service zones. Anyone else have a moment where analog beat digital for you on the road?

Read that corn mazes actually block GPS signals on purpose.

Yeah I've heard this too and honestly it makes total sense. Corn stalks are tall and dense enough that they mess with line of sight signals, so GPS gets confused in there. Farmers probably don't plant them that way on purpose, but the maze designers definitely use that to their advantage. It's kind of a fun trick though, getting lost without a phone to save you. Have you ever tried navigating one without any tech help?
