Man, I feel this. I had a folding map of the whole state in my truck for years and always fought with it because I was doing the accordion fold thing instead of folding it in half first. Once a guy at a gas station showed me you crease it along the original folds and then fold the whole thing in half, it fit right in the glove box. The trick is to never fight the map's natural creases, just follow what the printer already put there. Nine years is nothing, I know guys who still wrestle with theirs at every stop.
