Bought a vintage watch winder on ebay and it wrecked my automatic

I dropped $85 on a used watch winder from some seller in Ohio thinking it'd keep my Seiko automatic running smooth when i wasn't wearing it. After three weeks the rotor started grinding and the watch lost an hour a day. Anyone else had a cheap winder mess up their gear?

Same pattern everywhere now, cheap stuff breaks the good stuff it touches.

Right? It's like they're designed to fail together on purpose. Guess we're all just beta testers for the "planned obsolescence" subscription model now.
