I always said writing checks was dumb until my 74 year old neighbor in Scranton showed me her system last month
She keeps a running balance in the check register and it caught a $40 overcharge from the water company that I never would have noticed on autopay, so now I'm wondering if anyone else here still balances a checkbook by hand every month?
