Lost my wallet on a hike last weekend and had to go full analog
I was out on the Blue Ridge Parkway near milepost 380 and my wallet slipped out of my jacket pocket somewhere along the trail. No phone service up there, so I had to backtrack over 2 miles looking for it by eye, checking under every rock and bush. Found it wedged under a fallen log after about 45 minutes, but man, that feeling of being disconnected with no backup plan made me realize how much I rely on digital stuff for simple fixes. Anyone else had to solve a problem with just your eyes and hands when tech failed you?

Totally been there, my keys fell out of my kayak last summer and I had to dive in murky water for them.

Wouldn't diving into murky water make it harder to see anything though? I'd rather wait and come back with a flashlight or something to spot the keys better. Seems safer than jumping in blind like that.
