My kid's birthday party map got soaked in the park fountain
I had drawn a treasure map on a paper grocery bag for a party game, but a gust of wind sent it right into the water. I laid it flat on a sunny rock for twenty minutes, then traced the still-visible pencil lines with a permanent marker from my glove box. What's your best trick for saving wet paper in a pinch?

My old librarian used rice in a ziplock bag.

Bet the rice soaks up way more moisture than silica packs anyway.

That method always seemed a bit messy to me. I mean, you risk getting moisture and starch inside the book. Silica gel packs are a cleaner fix for a damp book.
