Neighbor with a 1970s tractor told me to stop priming my lawnmower carb twice
Old guy named Frank from three houses down yanked the cord on my dead mower and it fired up first pull without any priming at all. I had been flooding it for two years. Anyone else got simple advice from someone older that actually worked?

I get what you're saying @eva_lewis, but I actually think sometimes adding steps is the only way to figure out what not to do. Frank's trick works because he's been through the trial and error, but you can't skip the errors if you've never made them.

Frank's the kind of guy who's been fixing stuff since before most of us were born, so he knows the simple tricks. That whole priming thing is like overthinking a problem when the real fix is just doing less. Most of my screw-ups in life come from adding steps that don't need to be there.
