Spent 2 hours rewiring a lamp because I trusted the switch, not my own eyes
The switch tested fine with my little multimeter so I ruled it out, then I tore the whole socket apart and re-soldered two joints before a buddy asked if I checked the plug itself. One prong had a hairline crack I could only see with a magnifier, and swapping in a $2 replacement plug from the hardware store on Maple fixed it in five minutes. What is the dumbest thing you have overlooked on a repair because the easy answer seemed too easy?
