Bought a 1990s Russian Zenit camera for $20 on a whim and actually got some amazing shots

I was totally skeptical, figured it would be a cheap plastic toy, but the lens on this thing is crazy sharp. The whole process of winding the film and guessing the exposure made me slow down and actually think about each shot. Has anyone else found an old camera that surprised you?
