Can we talk about people who call every vintage camera a 'rare collectible' just because it's dusty

I saw a guy on FB marketplace yesterday trying to sell a beat up Kodak Brownie from the 50s for $200 and when I told him there's like a million of them out there he got all defensive and said 'well it's antique isn't it' like that justifies the price, has anyone else run into this weird pricing logic at flea markets or online?

Honestly, people get way too worked up over this stuff. It's just a camera, not a Picasso. If someone wants to pay $200 for a dusty Brownie, let them - it's their money to waste. The real comedy is watching them try to justify it with "but it's vintage!" like that's some magic word that makes everything worth triple.

Exactly, and calling it vintage doesn't magically fix the broken shutter or make the film any easier to find.
