Dropped $85 on expired film from a flea market in Austin, and 6 of 8 rolls came back blank
Saw a guy at a flea market off South Congress selling a bag of Kodak Gold and Portra for $85, said it was stored in a fridge the whole time. Shot 8 rolls through my Canon AE-1 over a trip to Big Bend, dropped them at the lab, and 6 came back totally clear with no edge markings at all. The other 2 had this heavy purple cast I couldn't fix in post. Turns out no edge markings usually means the film was never exposed or was so expired the latent image faded. Anyone else gotten burned buying bulk film from a random seller, and is there a way to test a roll before shooting a whole trip on it?
