My camera strap almost killed my neck on a hike near Boulder

Used to sling my old Nikon around my neck all day, figured the pain was just part of shooting. After a 7 mile trail last month I could barely turn my head, so I grabbed a $25 wide padded strap that goes across my chest instead. Has anyone else switched up strap style after a long day and felt a huge difference in how long you can keep shooting?
