Pushed expired Portra 400 two stops and got something unexpected

Shot a roll of Portra 400 that sat in my glovebox since last summer in Phoenix. Decided to push it to 1600 during a cloudy day at the botanical garden, mostly to see if it would even work. The colors came out warmer and grainier than I expected, but honestly it gave the cactus shots this weird 70s postcard vibe. Anyone else tried pushing expired stock way past the box speed, or do you usually just shoot it as is?

Phoenix summer in a glovebox is basically a science experiment, that film cooked slowly for months. I gotta ask, did the backing paper leave any weird marks or fringing on the frames, because heat does some crazy stuff to the emulsion. One time I forgot a roll of Gold 200 in my truck over a single Texas July and it came out looking like the whole world was on fire, so I cant even picture what a full summer did to yours. The 70s postcard thing makes total sense though, grain and warm shifts just do that to cacti and desert colors. Honestly surprised it held together at all, most film that hot starts to separate or fog pretty bad.
