Stopped guessing exposure on my Pentax and started using the box speed trick
I used to meter off my hand or the sky and hope for the best, which wasted a lot of Portra 400 at my cousin's wedding in Omaha back in April. Now I just set the meter to the film box speed, point it at the shadow side of whatever I'm shooting, and let the highlights fall where they fall. Way fewer muddy frames since then. Has anyone else made that switch, or do you still meter for the shadows and push in development?
