That old Pentax meter said 1/125 but the shadows told a different story
An old timer at the camera swap meet in Minneapolis told me to trust my gut over the needle when shooting Tri-X at golden hour, and sure enough the frames I bumped to 1/60 came out perfect while the meter-exposed ones lost all the texture in the tree bark, has anyone else found that vintage meters drift worse in cold weather or was that guy just right?

Old meters are worse in the cold, no question. But that guy was right too, trust the shadows over the needle every time.
