The week my Olympus OM-1 got soaked in a sudden Portland rainstorm
Was walking downtown last Tuesday when the sky just opened up. My camera bag wasn't waterproof. Got the body and my roll of Portra 400 completely drenched. Took it apart at home, dried everything with a hairdryer for like an hour. Thought the roll was ruined. Developed it anyway. The shots came out with these wild, streaky watermarks. One photo of a neon sign looks like it's melting. Has anyone else salvaged pictures from a waterlogged camera? What did you do?

My Pentax K1000 took a swim in a river two summers ago. I pulled the film in a dark bag and stuck it in a jar of distilled water for a full day, changing the water a few times. After that slow dry, the developer still bit into the emulsion weird. Got these ghostly, soft trails around all the bright spots, like streetlights had halos. It was a happy accident.

Man that sucks, sorry about your OM-1. Water damage always feels like a total gut punch. Those melting neon shots sound kinda cool though, a weird win.
