TIL the light seals on my Canonet had turned to black goo and cost me 9 rolls of Tri-X at a wedding in Sacramento
I shot my cousin's whole wedding on my Canonet QL17 GIII and every single frame came back with a light streak down the right side. It took me 3 weeks and a $40 seal kit from a guy on a forum to figure out the old foam had melted into a tar that was fogging the film, and I only caught it after ruining 9 rolls total. How often are you all checking the seals on cameras you bought used, or do you just wait until a roll comes back wrong like I did?
