Convention hall echo made me hear dubstep wrong for 3 days
Hit up Anime Expo in LA last month. The main stage has this insane slapback echo off the concrete walls. I thought the sound guy was sloppy, but it was the room. Half the crowd heard the same fight scene with a weird delay and we all thought it was an editing choice. Has anyone else noticed bad venue acoustics ruining a good track or dialogue scene?

You ever notice how those big concrete halls turn everything into a weird echo chamber? I hit a punk show once where the snare drum sounded like it was bouncing off a canyon wall, and the whole pit was off beat for the first two songs. We finally gave up and just moshed to the delay, honestly made the night WAY more fun.
