Dub vs sub on Legend of the Galactic Heroes is no contest

I tried watching the dubbed version first and the voice acting killed the whole tone for me - switched to subs halfway through episode 3 and suddenly the dialogue actually had weight. Anyone else think the sub cast totally outclasses the dub on that one?

Started watching the dub and had the same problem, the voices just felt flat. Switched to subs and instantly got why everyone loves this show.

Yeah that "flat" thing is exactly what I felt too. The dub actors sounded like they were just reading lines instead of actually being the characters. I gave it three episodes before I switched and everything clicked for me. The original voice acting just has way more energy and emotion packed into every scene.
