Had to pick between subbed and dubbed for my first Ghibli marathon - I chose wrong
So last weekend I finally sat down to watch all the Studio Ghibli movies I never got around to seeing. I had this debate with myself - do I go subbed or dubbed? I figured dubbed would be easier since I was gonna be multitasking a bit while the floor glue was drying on a job I had in Marietta. Big mistake. I started with Spirited Away and the English voice acting just felt off to me, like the emotions didnt match the animation. The whole time I was cringing and kept having to rewind because I got distracted. After 3 movies I just switched to subbed and everything clicked way better. Now I gotta rewatch the first two because I barely paid attention. Anyone else ever pick the wrong viewing option and regret it mid-movie?

That "emotions didn't match the animation" part hits hard. I notice this pattern everywhere now. People pick the easy option over the right one and then spend twice as long fixing it. Like buying pre-ground coffee instead of whole beans cause it's faster, then wondering why it tastes bad.
Dubbing is just a shortcut that never pays off. You traded a few minutes of reading for a whole rewatch session. That's the trap modern life sets for us. We choose convenience over quality and forget the math doesn't work out.
Pretty soon your floor glue job might need redone too if you cut corners there. Just saying.
