Hot take: The ramen shop scene in episode 4 of Food Wars is overrated

I stopped by a real hole-in-the-wall in Sapporo last month and their broth had way more depth than any anime could fake. Am I the only one who thinks the hype around that scene is just nostalgia talking?

Got a buddy who drove six hours just to try that exact ramen shop from the episode. He showed up and the line was wrapped around the building, forty five minutes in freezing rain. When he finally got his bowl it was lukewarm and the pork was dry as sandpaper. He said the broth tasted like they forgot to add the salt packet. Meanwhile I had a bowl at some no name spot in Fukuoka that literally made my eyes water it was so good. That scene is just pretty colors and loud sound effects covering up average food.
