I finally tried watching that show everyone argued about for months

Last Tuesday, I decided to watch 'The Great Debate' anime after seeing forum threads blow up over its ending for like half a year. I binged all 12 episodes in two days, and man, I get it now. The final scene where the main character just walks away without saying anything, I mean, I sat there for a solid ten minutes just thinking. Has anyone else had a show hit them like that, where you finally see what the fuss was about?

Honestly, that final scene everyone talks about just left me cold. I watched it after all the hype and kept waiting for some big payoff that never came. It felt less like deep art and more like the writers just didn't know how to end it. Maybe I'm missing something, but the whole thing just seemed kind of empty to me.

That last shot of the empty hallway went on for like a full minute and I was just checking my phone. I sat through the whole season waiting for some big twist and then it just... ended. Felt like they wrote themselves into a corner and gave up. The hype totally ruined it, I was expecting something amazing and got nothing.
