Miss when anime forums were more about just watching shows together
I was at a panel at Anime Boston back in 2019 and this guy walks up with a laptop showing fansubs he downloaded off IRC. He talked about how back then you had to wait weeks for a single episode to get translated. It made me realize how much faster everything is now with streaming. Does anyone else feel like the waiting built more community discussion back then?

I remember reading an article a few years ago that said fansub groups would race to put out the fastest translations and sometimes the quality was all over the place. @cole_mitchell8 you're right though, that wait really did make Tuesday night feel like a whole event.
