My buddy swore that Attack on Titan gets good after episode 25

I kept hearing him say push through the slow setup and it really pays off. I finally hit that point last night and the reveal about the basement actually changed how I see the whole series. Has anyone else had a friend give them a watch order that actually worked out?

Oh man, YES. That basement reveal is one of the best payoff moments in any show I've seen (I actually yelled at my TV when it happened). My buddy put me through the same thing with Hunter x Hunter - told me to stick with it through the early exam arc and wait until the Chimera Ant stuff. I was skeptical for a while but once Meruem shows up, the whole series just clicks into place. It's wild how patient friends can totally change your view of a show you were ready to drop.

Man, preach. Nothing beats that feeling when a slow burn finally pays off (I still get chills thinking about the basement). It's funny how we almost gave up on shows that ended up being all-time favorites just because the start felt rough.
