My take on dub vs sub flipped after 3 episodes of one show

I used to be a sub only person for like 6 years. Then my buddy put on the English dub of Spy x Family during a hangout in his basement. I laughed way harder at the dub's timing than I expected, especially with Loid's deadpan lines. So I gave the dub a real shot for 3 episodes and now I actually prefer it for comedies. Has anyone else switched sides after one specific show changed their mind?

Sub only people always say dubs lose the original meaning, but you just traded one translation for another and called it superior. Comedy timing in dubs gets rewritten to match lip flaps, so what you found funnier was actually a different script, not better voice acting. If you watched the same three episodes in Japanese with subs later, bet you would find the jokes land different anyway.
