Still think Attack on Titan got worse after season 3

Last week I rewatched the whole series and honestly, the political stuff in season 4 just dragged on forever. Everyone says it's genius writing but I found myself checking my phone during half of those Marley episodes. Am I the only one who preferred the simpler titan-killing days?

Hate to correct a fellow fan, but season 4 isn't actually all political. The Marley stuff is mostly world building and character setup for Eren's big turn. You probably checked your phone during the most important scenes like the Liberio attack or the Paths episodes with Zeke. Those are some of the highest rated episodes in the whole series. I get missing the simpler titan fights, but calling season 4 a political drag ignores how much action and horror is still packed in there.

Oh yeah, @nancy_owens is right about the Liberio attack, that whole sequence was insane and I still think about it. Reminds me of when I tried showing my cousin the first season and he fell asleep during the Trost battle, which is crazy because that's literally the best part of the whole show.
