That 'watch subbed not dubbed' advice from my buddy in 2018 was a letdown

My friend Mike kept telling me the subbed version of *Neon Genesis Evangelion* was way better because the dubbing ruined the emotion. I finally watched all 26 episodes subbed last month and honestly the English cast felt more natural to me. Has anyone else found that the 'subs are always better' rule doesn't hold up for certain shows?

Did you watch the English dub for Ghost Stories yet because that one TOTALLY flips the subs vs dubs debate on its head?

Ghost Stories dub is its own beast. That's the exception that proves the rule.
