The sub I modded for 2 years just banned me for asking a simple question

Tbh I'm still shocked. I helped that anime sub grow from 3k to 12k members. Ran weekly watch threads, fixed the wiki, even made the banner. Then last Tuesday I posted asking why the mod team changed the episode discussion format without talking to anyone first. 30 minutes later I'm permabanned with no message. When I messaged the head mod they just said "you're not a good fit anymore". Has anyone else gotten turfed from a community they basically built? How do you even appeal that?
