Vent: Binge-watching a show at 2x speed almost ruined it for me
I got caught up on a backlog of 40 episodes last month and thought 2x speed would help me power through. By episode 12, I realized I was missing all the quiet character moments, the pauses that make the comedy land, the background jokes. I went back to normal speed and rewatched the whole arc, and honestly it felt like a completely different show. Has anyone else actually stuck with faster playback and felt like they got the same experience, or is it just a way to say you watched something without really watching it?
Wait, so you're saying it doesn't matter how the story slows down to let a character breathe? Those quiet scenes are where you learn who they really are. If you skip them, aren't you just watching a bunch of stuff happen without knowing why any of it counts?
