Was totally against the whole "sub vs dub" debate until I tried watching Attack on Titan in English

I've been a sub only guy for like 15 years. Always thought dubs sounded flat and lost all the emotion. But my buddy kept pushing me to try the AoT dub because he said the voice actor for Eren was actually really good. I rolled my eyes but gave in during a long car ride. Ended up binging 3 episodes straight. The casting was way better than I expected. The scout regiment voices actually fit. Still won't watch most stuff dubbed but that one changed my mind on it. Anyone else have a show that flipped their opinion on something?

Oh man, I totally get this! I was the same way until my stubbornness backfired and I accidentally watched the first episode of Cowboy Bebop dubbed because I couldn't find my subs remote. Turns out my "sub only" rule was just me being a snob who missed out on some genuinely great performances. Still can't watch Pokemon dubbed though, that's where I draw the line!

That Cowboy Bebop dub really is a standout, kind of like how I stumbled onto watching monster movies in English and realized Godzilla was way more fun when I could understand the bad acting. My buddy swore by the original Japanese but I was laughing too much at the cheesy one-liners to care. What other shows do you think actually work better dubbed than subbed?
