Heard a guy at the bakery say he never checks his oven temp with a thermometer
I was picking up flour yesterday and overheard a baker telling his friend he just trusts his oven's dial. That made me think about my flat chocolate chip cookies from last month. I finally bought a $12 oven thermometer and my dial was off by 25 degrees. Has anyone else fixed a common fail just by checking their oven temp?

Your flat cookie story is my life, my oven runs a solid 50 degrees hot.

Ugh, my old oven did that too. I bought an oven thermometer and it was a total game changer, lol.
