My sister swore her sourdough starter needed honey not sugar
She kept telling me to swap honey for sugar in my feeding routine. I ignored her for 2 months because I thought sugar was fine. My starter barely bubbled until I switched to raw honey last week now it doubles in 6 hours flat. Has anyone else had a starter act totally different based on the sweetener?

Sounds like you might need a wetter dough and more time to rise.
