Saw a bakery in Portland with a sign about 'experimental sourdough'

Went inside and the loaf looked like a flat, gray pancake. The baker called it a 'textural exploration' and charged $18 for it. Has a fancy name ever convinced you to buy a total baking fail?

Ugh, it's not just bakeries... that fancy word trick is everywhere now. I bought "artisanal" soap that was just a weird, crumbly bar. Feels like a way to charge more for a mess.

Wait, soap can be crumbly?

Oh, the "artisanal" label. That's just code for "we didn't mix it right" now. My last bar of fancy soap fell apart in the dish and looked like weird cheese. You're paying extra for the privilege of cleaning up a gritty, crumbly mess. It's not a spa experience, it's just bad soap.
